"We mustn't censor the past" says bumbling incompetent U-Turner who not long ago was telling us to "move on" from a more recent event.

Hypocrite !

I suppose it makes sense to you.
Pass.
He should remind Dominic Cummings about the edits to his blog as well then :-)
It makes sense to me too and I wholeheartedly agree, Canary.
Enlighten me, Tilly.
Sorry to bang on, but DC was granted over an hour in the Downing St garden to rewrite history, probably at the invitation of the PM, so as long as he includes that as well in his criticism ;-)
Saying move on from something is not the same as saying we were no part of it.
Ich has cleared it up, Roy.
What has Boris censored?
Oh gawd! Is that it? As I said ... pass.
I agree with Johnson. He Tweeted:

// It is absurd and shameful that this national monument should today be at risk of attack by violent protestors. Yes, he sometimes expressed opinions that were and are unacceptable to us today, but he was a hero, and he fully deserves his memorial.

We cannot now try to edit or censor our past. We cannot pretend to have a different history. The statues in our cities and towns were put up by previous generations.

They had different perspectives, different understandings of right and wrong. But those statues teach us about our past, with all its faults. To tear them down would be to lie about our history, and impoverish the education of generations to come. //

Do you REALLY disagree with any of that ?

I assume it wasn't Colston he was holding up as a hero?

But yes, I wonder if he's given Cummings the same message with reference to his blogs.
Try the right thread, Gromit

Regardless... that doesn't mean he is agreeing with Khan.
Ditto at 13:48.
This post is about Boris saying one thing one week and the exact opposite the next.
Roy
This is the right thread. I don’t see any attack on Khan or what he has done.
roy, are you in the right place?
oh, sorry, Gromit has already asked.

Gromit quotes the sentence tweeted by Boris and in the OP so yes, this is the right thread.
Is the claim that moving on from something is the same as censoring the past ? It's clearly not. So unsure what the point being made, is.
I think, correct me if I'm wrong...Boris would want us to move on from the slavery era but not necessarily forget it or censor it.

And I think that goes for the Dom story too.

No?
