Eradicated threads/suspensions

Hi Ed/spare/moderators.
I accept that there is a 'keep it nice' ethos here and I do my best to stick to the rules but do you *have* to nanny this place so much that threads are zapped and people are suspended so readily ?
Surely a little more 'let it run its course' lenience is not asking too much and a little less censorship will allow personalities/views be seen in all their true colous, warts and all.
I appreciate that you have to draw the line somewhere, but I have seen a lot of threads pulled that were crammed with fascinating insights, colourful and constructive viewpoints and several posters suspended summarily for reasons that seemed pretty innocuous to me (even though they may also conflict with my own views).
My suggestion: please give warnings if you think someone is spoiling the ship for a ha'pennyworth of tar rather than just deleting entire threads/suspending people.
Thanks.

he cant be tamed... swoon
He will be hanging out......no idea why he took the Ed's holidays
lol :)
cazzz.....I don't think it's a secret and I feel sure you know that Trim was originally Naz. However, I am somewhat upset that a person who has always treated me with respect has said something to warrant a suspension.

In my opinion, he is a person with a great deal of knowledge on all sorts of subjects. However, his down to earth approach on matters is not always what some people are able to take.

Ron.
he is a straight talker, I admire that in him, he is a great contributor with a wealth of knowledge in a wide range of area's. he is a benefit to the site.

>naz is a good contributor,<

Maybe he's trying to make a point by contributing to the unsuspecting suspension idea.

AP. I do think that a warning would be a good idea, not sure how it could be implemented though.
why do people need a warning - if they stuck to the Site Rules they wouldn't need it!
Naz/trim is still here, he's been posting today (although he may have maried brad pitt recently)
yes but evil sheep you have been here long enough in your other guise to know that there is a lot of goading going on!
but people don't have to rise to it, do they?
its not as simple as that sheep, people are getting suspended for an innocuous remark that will go unpunished elsewhere, I can understand the issues raised in that for everyone to feel safe and happy to post there should be consistancy.

last I looked Trim and ummm were in the dungeon; is pixi there now too? I don't know if putting all these malcontents in one place is a good idea, especially if they have to share the bucket
its unfair to post in a manner that looks like goading, imo goaders should be punished
if they were suspended for an innocuous remark, they can simply ask the ed to re-instae them, surely?
Buenchico 'Most of the moderators really can't be bothered with suspending or banning people'

I didn't realise mods could ban people?

Probably explains why I was recently banned (and then re-instated by the Ed who couldn't understand why) for no apparent reason
the ed made a rule about suspensions being non negotiable, I think he has to follow through on that
evil_sheep...Appealing to the Ed is pointless if one has been suspended.

This has been made clear by the Ed who has also said that suspensions are for a week's duration.:-
