Robin for me tony
Question Author
I think I would to, mazie.
Tony - hope you don't mind, here's the link to the voting page -

My vote will remain a secret :-)

Thanks LIK.
Perhaps a 'national bird' ought to be one that's distributed across the whole of the country and that most people here recognise?

With that in mind, the blackbird would seem to be the best choice to me.

Well I would like to see the avocet or red kite, Tony....but RSPB does have the avocet of course..... a tribute to a bird that came back from near man made extinction.

So I will vote for the hen harrier, though I think the stupidity of man may have made it too late for this magnificent bird.....and I'll encourage as many people as I can to do the same if only for the publicity it will give to what we do to wildlife in the name of "sport".

Question Author
Chris you can vote for the Blackbird on LIK's link.
Question Author
The Red kite is there to be voted for, gness.
It is, Tony.....but thankfully the red kite is spreading and doesn't need our help any more to escape extinction....it would be a heart vote for me....BUT...

The hen harrier does need our help.....I know it will be a pretty and familiar bird that gets most votes......but.....look at the hen harrier please....and just consider what is about to be lost to us.....x
I think a Wren. It served us well for many years on the Farthing and look at all the wonderful still standing structures from Sir Christopher Wren.St. Paul's Cathedral standing alone in the smoke and flames of the Blitz.British defiance!!
If I wasn't so passionate about saving birds from people with guns I'd go with Chris.....blackbird.....though I do love starlings....x
Question Author
Sorry gness but the hen harrier isn't there to be voted for, don't know why.
Question Author

Hen harrier for me. However, the fluffy bunny brigade will vote for the robin.
