A scarey one! ☺

The general shape is consistent with a wolf spider but this is only a fuzzy guess.
Question Author
It is a scary one and I was home alone so had to deal with it myself!

Thanks for the guess, I just want to google it as I have 2 raised dots close together on my leg that were itchy and I'm wondering if it was on me and bit me. I originally thought they were just insect bites but then I found another 2 raised dots exactly the same width apart nearby
It looks like a tube web spider. Google Segestria Florentina if you're brave enough :)
Question Author
I'm really not enjoying this googling experience lol!
I trust you sucked it up the hoover!!
Question Author
I hit it with a shoe first and then sucked it up the hoover... sorry anyone that likes them!
His name is Harry and his brother henry wears a big leather jacket...
caj1 why does your spider look as though it has more than the regulation eight legs? - lost one and grew two in exchange?
Oh, with me it wouldn't get the shoe treatment. I wouldn't give it the opportunity to run somewhere else. Straight up the hoover!! No messing!
Bloody hell! That's one hideous specimen!
Just to add to your fun with "Harry the Tube". Tube Web spiders are one of the british spiders that can give humans a bite.
Question Author
Hopefully his brother Henry isn't crawling about my house ummmm!

Oh god, its even worse than your usual spider carmalee, 9 legs??!! I never even noticed!!

I like to know they're definitley dead naomi, I'd have visions of it crawling back out the hoover looking for revenge!!!
Question Author
Isn't it just hippyhoppy!

Hmmm, Milvus that is possibly what it is then...do my dots on my leg ^^^ sound like a spider bite?
They don't bother me CAJ....I had one that always came out at night and he'd scuttle across the floor and you could see his shadow on the wall. I just watched him with fascination...
Keep the Dyson running for five minutes.. it won't have any legs left to crawl out of the machine....!!
Question Author
I wish I was like you ummmm, I have a serious spider phobia, absolutely cannot stand them... I keep thinking things are crawling on me now lol!
I know what you mean. With that thought in mind, depending on the size of the unwanted visitor, I've left my hoover running for ages in the past.
Question Author
lol, good tip hippyhoppy!
I have never understood spider phobias....although I have seen my friend crying her eyes out because she seen one. She also stopped her car because there was a spider inside and ran screaming down the street with engine still running....lol
Spider bites leave a pair of puncture holes. All spiders are venomous so any bites will get local swelling at least. The Tube web bite is painful for a few hours
