Susie is home

An update for those of you who replied to my postings earlier in the week about my sick 14 year old collie bitch.
She has a brain tumor. I picked her up from the vets this morning. She's sleeping peacefully now. The vet assures me she isn't in any pain so we're going to let her spend what time she has left in her own home with plenty of pampering!! If and when we take the decision to put her to sleep the vet will come here so she will not have the stress of going back to the surgery which she hates!

I hope that the rest of her life is pain free and she drifts off to doggy heaven in her sleep.

I wish both you well - it is always hard losing a loved one but I am sure that her final time on the planet will be full of love, food, more love and sleeping.

I had not read your posts before Miss Meg - but what a sad story, but 14 is a grand old age and I am sure she is very happy to be home and is being spoiled rotten.

oh miss meg i am sorry to hear of your news. my first cat had a brain tumour and he also got plenty of pampering.
i hope you and yours have comfort with each other when the time comes.

Thanks for your answers. It is a very sad time. I am so glad to have her at home, she's been in the vets since Wednesday. I also have her litter sister who is demanding that she gets extra TLC as well!! Wendyxx

so sorry to hear your news, meg people who have never had pets don't realise just how much they come to mean to you, so just give her lots of love till the time comes (you'll know when) I'm glad the vet is coming to your house as I did the same when I lost Che my first GSD, he never liked going to the vets and I've always been glad that he was at home with me when he went over the rainbow bridge

Hi miss meg have been keeping an eye on your posts and am very sorry to read the outcome from the vet.
It's an awful time for you but truly I think you've been given a gift, Susie has been able to come home and spend her remaining time in her own home with the people she loves.
We weren't given that option when we lost our beloved Curly, Poppy and we are still grieving for her two years down the track, although we have other dogs, and their companionship is great - she went so suddenly there was not time to even think clearly about anything.

What a sad time for you, we do have our hearts torn by our pets don't we? I had a labrador called Susie who lived till she was 18 and it broke my heart when we lost her.
