For fellow nature lovers.

Came back after shopping just now to find my swallows nest empty. One dead baby with an injury lying on the ground and one live baby (not looking very healthy) which I put back in the nest. The parents are quite distressed. Methinks our Jay has been busy.

Just had to tell somebody. I'm so sad.

Come to think of it, probably Mummy should be reading you a bedtime story by now. So run along there's a dear.
So sorry to hear about the robins krustyman. Its distressing - we have had the same. Yet still the birds come back and start again. Amazing!!!

And a little note to creampie - yes! go back to mummy and hopefully she will put a dummy in your mouth!! Your silly comments are not welcome on this section!!! Grow up!!
and then bend who ever it was who you just gargled and swallowed over, put on a strap on and give him a jolly good rogering. Not far from the truth am i?

You are so obviously a child that I can't get annoyed with you - just can't be bothered. Those of us on here have been around long enough to just laugh at little kids like you trying to be clever, whatever you post won't shock us. We are not rising to the bait (if you understand that expression!). Just run along.
Ditto LL! The silly little comments are springing up all over the section! So pathetic! What a sad little person!!!

That's very interesting IAP. Thought provoking. I often think we have moved too far away from our animal origins and not to our advantage!

Update on Baby Swallow - he's still being fed along with his sibling!! ;o)
Great news LL - hope the little'uns are still doing well. :o)
Lofty, do us all a favour and report the morons who have given stupid "answers"! I've just posted on AB Suggestions about it. K

I have Kleiber and no action has been taken!!!
Question Author
Still no action taken. So much for the return of the Editor!

Baby swallows are now all dead. Attacked by something. We believe it is possible the woodpecker as we have seen woodpeckers taking baby birds before and this particular woodpecker has been around this area so much lately.

I wasn't going to post on AB anymore until it has been 'cleaned up', but have decided that it's better to just ignore it and carry on. However, I am very disallusioned now about the site. I shall carry on in this section because the majority of people are genuine.

Just logged on and saw your new post Lottie.
Oh, that's such a shame after our hopes were up.
There's no point having a report facility if nothing is done.
It is pretty sad if genuine people can't post questions and responses without saddos spoiling it. Maybe it is best just to carry on as though they had never posted. I can understand your disillusionment (is there such a word?).
I amongst others love to hear your news.
Question Author
Thank you Yogasun. And I'm sure that there is a word 'disillusionment - although there is no such word as disallusioned as per my last posting - whoops! x
Sorry to hear about your birdies Lofty .
Great shame .
As for the stupid remarks . I rarely visit this section anymore because of such childish behaviour .

Oh - I'm so sorry LoftyLottie to read the news about the birds. :o(xx

Thanks Shaneystar and Alfie blue. One empty nest and a very dirty front porch now. Hopefully they will try again.

I think the stupid remarks are going all round the site. Editing might help!
So sorry to read about the baby swallows Lottie. :o[

It's an awful, sad shame .... little lives gone ....

I am on tenterhooks at the moment (again!), my lovely little bluetits are in danger of becoming lunch for a neighbour's cat. It's nerve wracking, they are so close to a woodpecker too - but he seems oblivious to them, which is great - but I caught the cat jumping up against the ivy, where the tits' box is! (Is there any wonder I'm going grey???)

This cat is determined - I've chased him out of my garden loads of times, but he keeps coming back.

I think the tits are on their second round of chicks - we see their fledglings "vibrating" on our garden seat, begging for food. It's so lovely to watch them.

Lottie, I hope you don't let the morons who post stupid things put you off this site - it's hard to do, I know - but ignoring the ********* is the best option. They'll go away if they don't get the reaction they're looking for.

Keep your chin up, keep posting, and keep doing a fantastic job looking after our wonderful wildlife.

Tara for now lass.
Luv chappie.♥
