Hi, we have a fish in our pond, quite big, around 6 inches in length that has been in the pool for years, and it has a HUGE belly, its is like a baloon and like it is full of babies, and it is so big now that its scales are starting to protude and there is another fish that is going the same way, is this a disease we can treat, and should we take the fish out of the pond?

This sounds very much like 'Dropsy' which is caused by bacteria.
The disease can sometimes correct itself but can also be faital. ask at your local aquatic store for advice but be prepaired to kill them humanely. Good Luck. Tbird+

ok thanks for that, dont think either of us are up to killing it humanely, may have to take it to the aquatic place down the road if it comes to that, thanks for your response though, appreciated.
