Thou shalt not express an opinion.

Now I'm off to cancel my booking at an aspirational glorified campsite with overpriced 'facilities'.

Erm, you're being a bit dramatic.

If a newspaper publishes an article having a go at gay parents, it's hardly surprising that gay people will withdraw their money from them.

Both sides are equally exercising their freedom here (just like you are). Littlejohn has freely written his opinion piece with about the same integrity and insight as he always does, and CP and the Southbank Centre have chosen not to advertise with them because they both hire large numbers of gay people and rely on the custom of gay people.
I disagree Krom, as usual you have only looked at one side.

Firstly the complaint tweeted "My son so wants me to book at your parks, but how can I do that if you support homophobia?"

Littlejohn did not express homophobia: In his article, Littlejohn said he supported civil partnerships, and would prefer a child to be fostered by "loving gay couples" rather than be "condemned to rot" in state-run institutions.

Littlejohn has expressed an opinion that I have no doubt will gel with many, particularly the Christian and Islamic religions. He is entitled to that view as are the religious.

Intolerance of other peoples views and actions on the back of one tweet is becoming far too common, it is, as Douglas says, on the verge of thought crime.
In addition, on this particular relationship, I think you will find many that don't care whether the couple are same sex are still appalled that a child is being used to fix a broken relationship.
Headline: major tourist attraction distances itself from anything which might cause offence to potential customers.

Not exactly earth shattering news, is it.
Well actually Zacs it is a fine line. They have pampered to one tweet but ignored the vast majority for what it is: a Littlejohn rant.

In doing so they have alienated quiet a few more I would imagine. Despite what liberals may think many people do not agree with same sex marriages let alone having kids in them.
which one of them is "expecting"?
//many that don't care whether the couple are same sex are still appalled that a child is being used to fix a broken relationship//

This is why most children are born. Either that or to trap spouses.
Also "replying to a tweet" does not mean the decision was taken because of the tweet. It just means that is how it was publicised.
//which one of them is "expecting"? //

maybe the foetus is gestating in a box?
//anything which might cause offence to potential customers. //

Like ......errr "normal" people? No news I see about the woman who is incubating the baby. Probably American, at a price no doubt. I was under the impression that paid surrogacy was illegal in the UK. Still as long as a couple of attention seeking individuals make the "news", they are fulfilled. As Dylan sang "Lessening the distance between right and wrong".

What a horrible thing to say. None of mine were born that way and I don't know anyone who has.

Are you saying the tweet had nothign to do with it and a board member read the Daily Mail and got offended then?

I have no idea whether the board read the DM. I think it is rather silly, however, to suggest they were suddenly galvanized by a single tweet. CP hires plenty of gay folk and has plenty of gay customers. It is not an irrational thing for them to do.
I bet it has more religious (or religious thinking) ones!
There is of course an entirely different debate about whether surrogacy in general should be encouraged and whether it is morally right to have children at all in an age of severe overpopulation. But that seems rather separate to the question about freedom/intolerance that douglas posed.
Perhaps Centre Parcs will run a series of ads in the "Independent" or "Pink News" expressing their preferences to accommodate gay, transgender, hermaphrodites or other groups. Perhaps the LGBTQ Activists will now hold all their "events" there. Perhaps they will relax their own rules and allow alternative families to book accommodation. That will attract the "right sort" of Centre Parcs client no doubt. Would you take your children or grandchildren though?
Lol.....
I'd take my child and my grandchild.

CP are free to take their advertising wherever they like and for whatever reasons they like.
I'd not much want to be associated with anything the Florida-resident Richard Littlejohn had to say, either.

This isn't intolerance, nor is it anywhere near thought crime.

Littlejohn is free to express himself, and Center Parcs is free to advertise where it sees fit.

I don't understand the big deal.

Perhaps we should try not to believe everything we read in the papers.

Or gossip rags.
How can he be expecting a baby women expect babies because men lmpregnate them with spermicide and 9 month later a baby is born, has something changed?thats how it was in my day WHOSE THE DADDY THEN?

Both Mr Black and Mr Daley will be the father (or daddy). Biologicallly, one of them will.

As to which one that is, I suspect that this is information that we don’t actually need to kept informed of.

Like for instance, when a couple you know announce that they are having a baby, you wouldn’t think to ask, “Exactly how did you conceive? Did you take her from behind or did you opt for missionary?”

Also, the word ‘expecting’ seems right to use. After all, younger couples tend to say, “We’re expecting our first child” and even “We’re pregnant”, when only one of them is physically carrying the foetus.
