Question is, are there different dog gates for doors that open to the outside as opposed to internal doors? Or are they all the same? Thanks.

You can see the pressure fittings here, just screw them in/out to fit http://www.petmountain.com/photos/product/giant/114420S105222/metal-dog-gates/four-paws-metal-safety-gate-walk-thru-pet-gate.jpg

My sister has one to keep her poodle in which fastens with screw type pressure pads. They're alright for small dogs but Max just looked at it,promptly jumped over it and went to sleep in his favorite spot under her pear tree.

Max being a German Shepherd Paddy?

No worries rsvp.
Yes ladybirder, we lost him nearly five years ago and still miss him. He's my main avatar and is shown at different stages of his life during the 11 year he was with us depending on the mood I'm in.
Big hairy Germans - my favourite hound.

Ladybirder - when I was younger my mum made our back garden escape proof so that the dog would not get out (to go to the Primary school and eat all the unwanted packed lunches). The fence was about nine or ten foot - and he got out no bother.

I am looking for a cat gate and they are devious little monsters -I hope that you manage to find a gate that gives you peace of mind.

Paddy I thought so, mine won't find it quite so easy they are a lot smaller . Thank you.
Wolf one of the gates I am considering has a cat flap in it. It is by no means certain that I won't get another cat in my lifetime so ...
My garden is escape proof but I want to stop the dogs diving in and out at will, especially when it's warm and I need the door open. Not so bad when it's dry but when it's wet they keep coming in and out, in and out, stomping and peeing on the plants and traipsing mud across my white slabs in the garden and then all over my sitting room floor etc. In just over two years they have killed about £400 worth of plants before they had chance to get established. Had enough now!!
Could you not get a joined to make a gate to meet your own requirements?

Our furry family are loveable but they are sometimes very destructive. Good job we love them.
Joined should be joiner

It's a standard opening Wolf so I don't need to do that which would be a lot more expensive anyway. I've narrowed it down to two so nearly there.
