I know Buckden Pike very well. I once hiked up it in deep snow and helped a farmer push his pick up out of the farmyard. His wife made us all a lovely cuppa and retailed us of stories of the winter of 62 when she was snowed in from October to March with a new born baby!
That was a lovely (but not sickly sweet) story. Wufra is a beautiful dog and seems to have settled into his new home really well. He looked so sweet in his stretcher and the guys who rescued him did well.

We will find and euthanize the scum who left him there - we will do it slowly.

Nice Christmas story.
Happy ending :o)))
Doesn't it just warm your heart to read stories like this....fabulous work by those rescuers, worth their weight in gold.

I think its fabulous that he was given a chance to live...it spite of possibly being just hours away from death. Well done to all involved.
My God what a fabulous story. What wonderful people saving him like that and I just love the picture of him being brought down the hill on a stretcher. Now, where's that hankie !
