And they look in such bad condition.

How can people keep animals in this sort of captivity beats me.

Probably, but not because it is horrible. Like the ending to a sad film.
awwwwww, i'm welling up
30 years in a cage - beggers belief - glad they have at last got a bit of pleasure and respect.
Thanks for sharing Lofty, very bittersweet. x
I've not looked, and am not going to.

Couldn't we treat those 'humans' the same way?
Aaaw Lottie, cant imagine the joy they are feeling now. very sad life with a very happy ending, ah bless
Alba watch, it's ok, really. Lovely to see.
Chimps scare me, but I saw this yesterday and I welled up and did say "awwww" out loud.
good that they finally got their freedom, to a degree, shame they couldn't have stayed with their mothers all those years ago.
Every time you take an ibuprofen, every time you have an anesthetic, every time you use shampoo (and know to keep it away from your eyes) it is because animals have been kept in this sort of captivity. Sad but true. What the eye doesn`t see....
I wonder why it took the "rescuers" so long to introduce them to fresh air and real freedom
not every product has been tested on animals, and there are any number of outlets now that produce goods that are not. Though I can never understand why a shampoo has to be tested out on some poor creature, to what purpose, its not something that has a life changing treatment, just makes your hair clean.
Actually they weren't kept for 30 years.... don't know where you got that from My question is...why did it take 14 years between them being rescued in 1997 and now to get them out in the open 14 YEARS?????? Very strange. Personally, I am against animal testing except just before human drugs trials. I wonder if alba would like to volunteer to do drugs testing? Again when commenting on the bad condition you have to ask why still like that after 14 years.
the info i looked at seems to point to the fact they have been kept in isolation for so long, that they have been terrified of the world outside. I know it seems a long time, but they are now in a million dollar home, and one hopes their misery is at and end.
Apparently the company that was building their new home went ninto liquidation and it took years to frind someone else to do it.Brilliant outcome though.I just wish all animals suffering from cruelty could have such a happy ending.Even better if NO animals ever had to endure any suffering.Sigh,(in an ideal world)
Anngel123 - it says in the Daily Mail that they were kept caged for 30 years - now I don't want to get into a dispute about the quality of the DM but that is their reporting of the story.
Poor bloody things, another example of man's callous disregard for the animal world. May they know nothing but happiness, love and comfort for the rest of their days. Bless them.
Hear hear NAYAIW :-)
errr Anngel, what has me offering or not to do with drug-testing got anything to do with this post?

Whether I have or not in the past is no-one's business anyway.
