hi there, i wrote in a little while ago when i lost my dear cat Tinker. i dont know if many of you will remember. i was really upset at the time and still am actually but it is getting better.

i had a big chat with my vet who encouraged us to rehome a kitten. he said every cat has his own personality and a new kitten will bring something to the family.

well i did it, we got a beautiful little ginger kitten yesterday, 6 weeks old. who is absolutely gorgeous and funny.

we are not sure what to call him yet and may have to call a family conference on this one.

anyway thank you everyone who supported me through this sad time and although Tinker will always live forever in my heart i am sure he will pleased we are helping to care for another little one, who i hope will live as long as Tinker did - 16 years.

have a lovely day everyone and i am sure our days will start to be sunnier and happier again now.

love Jan xxx

Afcjan, what wonderful news. The little one will soon have a grip of steel on your heart. It cannot replace Tinker but they all have their own personality. I'm presuming its a boy cause its ginger LOL
Good luck with the naming.
Congratulations Jan. I am so jealous as I would love a new little one, but my purse says I can't take any more! They are all so different and each one is very special. May he be with you for many years. He's a very lucky cat to have found such a caring and kind home.

thank you Rosetta and Lofty Lottie your words are really kind. i am creeping around the house at the moment because he is asleep and he is so tiny. I am sure Tinker would approve of him as well.

my son has just informed me that we should call him Rocky as he is batting everything in sight. i think it may just suit him. will keep you posted.
Yes, Rocky sounds good - "Rocky the Red"!
You have had a cat before so you know - there is no such thing as an angelic kitten. You can get an angelic looking kitten - but they are little monsters intent on destruction.

Enjoy your little one - I am SO jealous. My two are 3 years old and I love them to bits - except when I am trying to strangle them.

:-)
I'm so pleased for you afcjan, a new baby to look after and all the pleasure the little one will bring.I know hard work will be on the cards whilst still settling in but all well worth it.Good health to your little one.g.
I love ginger cats and really envy you having this lovely little kitten. He will grow into whatever name you give him and although he will never replace Tinker he will have you all dancing to his tune very soon! he will have a lovely home with you and I wish you lots of happiness

to you all

thank you so much for all the love and support that you are sending out to me. its like Brands Hatch here today hes racing around like Louis Hamilton... he looks happy and hes eating well.

i was a bit worried about him at night but he goes to bed and doesnt cry i think he knows we are here for him if he gets frightened and i do leave a light on for him.

thank you
lovely to hear your news. when I lost my Vincey I said never again, a year later I got two half brother kittens, one of them is ginger and he has the cutest face. His brother is tabby and white but they have brought me such joy and are more fun to watch than anything on TV. Although I still miss my Vincey and wish I could have him back, I am pleased I was able to home the two little rescue kittens and show them love and kindness which they respond to so well.
You are so right to say your days will be sunnier with your little chap. I love the name Rocky, cute kitties with butch names are brilliant. Enjoy
