Some of you may remember from yesterday that I was worried about Boots, well he died this morning. When I got up he'd had a massive nose bleed and could hardly walk. I took him straight to the vet and my worst fears were realised. Vet said he was very very tired and no treatment would be worthwhile because of his age 17, Boots even lay down on the table and didn't move or make a sound. Bye bye my my little friend, we have buried him in the garden where he spent most of his time.

Oh no, what a horrible birthday you're having so far :-(

So sorry to hear this. Console yourself that at 17, he had a cracking long life, and you were his friend right uptil the end.
I am really sorry to hear about this but, as Boo says, 17 is a good age and he was obviously loved by both you and doc.

It is nice that he wasn't ill for a long time and that he didn't suffer. He had just run out of steam and was ready to go to the great mouse hunting ground to be with Puss.

sorry puss :-(

So sorry Puss. You have given him a long Happy Life. Such a shame that this has happened to you on your birthday. It is difficult to say Happy Birthday to you, but I wish you all the best. x
Oh puss, I am so sorry to hear about Boots. Perhaps you should make your birthday a celebration of his life and just know that he had a long and happy life. Love to you and doc. xx
puss-I am truly sorry to hear that...I have always felt that you and doc really doted on your cats. xx
Run free now Boots-you are now young again at Rainbow Bridge.......

To puss and doc - I am so very sorry for you both xx
As is quite well known on here, I am not fan of cats or a cat lover. But I'm genuinely sorry your Boots has passed on. However, 17 years eh? A good life & he was obviously loved. It's sad it happened on your birthday - but maybe that's the little tyke's way of making sure you remember him?!!
Im so sorry for you both-its heartbreaking:(

(Pastas lovely sentiment brought tears to my eyes ....)
sad to hear puss, my cat Seamus was killed by a car on new years morning so i know how upset you may be xxx
