whats left of our country ?

Lets hope so

"However, according to the UK-based Arabic daily newspaper al-Hayat, the WikiLeaks release includes documents that show Turkey has helped Al Qaeda in Iraq - an extraordinary revelation which could kill off the country’s hopes of joining the EU."

If they join the gravy train it will be the final nail in the coffinn of this country, millions more muslims wil have a free ticket to stroll in here and finish the takeover.

They're probably having second thoughts about joining the Euro. I don't think anyone in Ireland would describe joining the EU as a gravy train. Apologies for not answering the main body of your Q.
not just our country, but its good for the Eu in general..The turks human rights issue is more than enough to keep them out, but this should seal there fate.
Well I'm very pro EU but I'm not convinced that Turkey's membership would be a good thing.

I can see the advantages, but I can see disadvantages too.

I certainly think Cameron should think a bit more about his bullish pro-Turkey Membership position.

Turks usually go to Germany rather than Britain. Perhaps if they went to France instead they could polish up their human rights record by learning how to expel Roma in the approved EU fashion.
The Turks are quite good at expelling minorities, it's something else they'd have to admit to in order to attain E.U status.
JNO's right, Turks tend to go to Germany as Germany is their only traditional ally in the west.

it is for all the mep's politicians etc that have their snouts firmly stuck in the trough.
we pay billions each year , but what do we as a country actually get back ?
There is a big difference between joining the EU and joining the Euro as the Irish did.

If Turkey join the EU then we could outsource our prisons to them. That should sort the scum out.
Germany is one of the biggest countries opposing Turkey's bid to join the EU.
the turks tend to gravitate to Germany so I dont think this fully holds.

the Moroccans to the Neths and France gets its ex-colonial Muslims - which explains the very high percentage in France.....
Perhaps we should agree to leave the EU in exchange for them letting Turkey in.
there are currently an estimated 125k to 500k folks of Turkish origin in the UK, the exact number is unknown - but split the difference and say 250k. A very high percentage of these are, in fact, Turkish Cypriots who fled here after the troubles on the island......so the actual number of mainland Turks are relatively few.
