Could The Person Who Is Moderating This Thread Please Identify Themselves?
Answers
Firstly I thought the whole idea of having secret names like secretmod, ravingmod, modster etc etc was explained by the editorial team so they could calmy explain why a post etc has been removed or someone needs a gently warning to watch what they're saying. If that's not happening then why do they even exist? (it's been fun to guess who is who, I know some of them"?)
Secondly why are the mods on this thread not doing something about the constant mention of Naomi's name, even though Naomi is clearly not on it right now. Referring to any poster when they are not involved in the thread has always been an etiquette no-no.
ynnayammi - Because your 'comical posts' weren't and most times 'levity' is unneccesary on serious topics?
Or perhaps it was because you said it umpteen times and wrung what little 'humour' there was out of it?
But if AB is not the right place for you to contribute, perhaps you would fare better elsewhere?
This mod-bashing is getting seriously tedious and re-hashing it every couple of weeks because someone is in a snit is utterly boring.
"Because your 'comical posts' weren't and most times 'levity' is unneccesary on serious topics?"
this is not against Site Rules jackthehat.
this is the point we keep coming back to... moderators are supposed to simply enforce the rules but it is extremely obvious to anyone who cares to look that they don't do it. there would be no need for "mod bashing" if mods did not engage in behaviour that was objectionable. but they do.
prudie's point is an excellent one... the whole point of anonymous accounts for moderators was so that they could explain themselves without having to reveal their non-mod identity. they don't do it.
Naomi does seem to take a lot of bashing, gets the blame without any proof she is involved. She hasn't posted on this thread.
I refer everyone to the first paragraph
https:/
"I also remind you that you can email the Ed if you are unhappy with the moderation of a post "
but here's the thing barry... most people don't want to go running to teacher, who is AWOL anyway. i think it would be much easier if moderators just behaved themselves and showed a touch of judgement. you don't have any right to be surprised that people get upset when posts are removed even though they do not breach the rules.
the thread i linked in my OP is dead now. it's just "--answer removed", "--answer removed--". it's not the editor who did that and it's not the users--that was you and secretmod. i'm not going to ask why you did that because the rules do not allow me to do so, but i would like to observe that the two of you messed up a perfectly good thread and it's not the only one where this kind of thing has happened.
