Firstly I thought the whole idea of having secret names like secretmod, ravingmod, modster etc etc was explained by the editorial team so they could calmy explain why a post etc has been removed or someone needs a gently warning to watch what they're saying. If that's not happening then why do they even exist? (it's been fun to guess who is who, I know some of...

It'll be naomi/modster, guranteed, she's already burgered another thread. She'll deny it of course and probably close this thread.

It's why I would always explain my decisions and be open.

Anyone know how to make this emoji^ fly?

Question Author

we're always told we don't know who it is which is true. the Site Rules forbid discussing why posts are deleted but there is no rule against asking who is moderating

please note i have a screenshot of this thread which breaks absolutely no rules

I am.

Question Author

the thread concerns an interesting news story in a relevant section of the site and has been completely screwed up by over moderation

anybody feel like owning their handiwork?

Question Author

Thank you secretmod.

may i please request that you remove only posts that directly break Site Rules

Untitled - the posts were removed because of either -

11. Any posts asking or discussing why a post or thread was removed or closed, or why a member was banned or suspended, will be removed

or another user repeatedly doing what they've been asked not to do.

Further instances may result in suspension, so please stop now.  TTT - you are completely incorrect in your assumption that Naomi & I are the same person - stop it.

Question Author

i would kindly suggest that sometimes ignoring a post will cause less disruption than ignoring it.

que?

Question Author

i can't elaborate without breaking rule 11

UNTITLED, that's too deep for me...

Question Author

*less disruption than removing it

sorry

gawd it's like the NATO of mods! PMSL! Touched a few nerves there untitled!

and has been completely screwed up by over moderation

it starts witha  few slashes, and then emboldened the whole thread goes down the jarn.

( easy parallel - a disease cycle, from prodrome, first spots and demise)

I give my views to the editor on politically biassed moderation at least once a week - along with examples and hilarious mis-interpretations - along with elephant in the room stuff ( it is no good me posting as it will only last 30s)

and we have the glorious productt we see in front of us

Question Author

i wonder if it might be worth giving one person the ability just to restore answers rather than delete them as a corrective. that way such a person would not have full mod rights but could prevent threads getting totally AR'd

gawd it's like the NATO of mods! PMSL! Touched a few nerves there untitled!

you mean they get together, blaart at length and do nothing ?

Gawd I think you are being very unfair to NATO - ter daaah !

It's me

Here's a thought...

Howsabout framing your responses so that they are less contentious, break no rules and are not designed to deliberately annoy?

It's not difficult - I have only had a handful of my posts deleted since I joined and no-one would suggest that I shy away from making forthright posts.

TTT, if you care to read ABEd post you will see that Naomi is not Modster.
