Good morning, Birdies. I hope you survived the unbearable heat last night.

I survived, but only just. A cold shower beckons!

Whatever you're doing today, have a good one and stay hydrated.

Good morning LCG et al :)

Dog walked and off to the gym in a bit... Oooo get me lol It's a beautiful morning here in Essex and I now have 4 days off of work yayyy.
I have to get my head down and finish the final module on my course and then it's mainly garden time and reading for me. I'm reading American Gods and it's a captivating story, absolutely loving it.

Have a fabulous day everyone xx
Good morning LCG, and all good advice, I will obey.
Take care folks

Good morning, divegirl. What I would give for four days off work! All my annual leave for this year is accounted for, save for 3 days, so I will have to use those remaining days very sparingly.

I've ordered a couple of book on Amazon which should come later today and a couple of vinyl albums for OH for Father's Day. I normally get parcels sent to the in-laws but I'm working from home today so I can receive them here and he won't know anything about them until Sunday.

I've not heard of American Gods??

Good morning, Chip. How are you today?

It was a show on Netflix too, not seen it and always prefer to read the book first if I can.
Still have a fair bit of holiday to take, I like just taking a couple of days here and there, especially as I won't be flying off anywhere ;)
Morning all, a warm one down here, the windows open and a fan going already. Off to the beautiful Plymouth later on, says he tongue in cheek...
Question Author
Thanks for the link, I'll have a read of that in a bit.

I kind of wish I was in the same boat re holidays. I've gone overboard this year booking holidays and, coming back from Riga the other week, the long journey and flight delays and traffic on the M25 really put me off. Still, what's done is done and I'll hold back on booking anything for next year (except for Sharm el Sheikh which is already booked).

When we've got the garden done I would be happy to spend days at home rather than going off anywhere.

Morning, DT. You're not a Plymouth fan then...? ;)
Can't stand the place - the only good thing is perhaps some dim sum or sushi for lunch down near the Barbican.
Question Author
It'll be worth it for the Sushi, DT. I absolutely love the stuff.

:-)
when it's good, yes - best I ever had was in the Tokyo Fish Market - and superb green tea too and my normal attitude to green tea is take it or leave it. I love the oily sushi like mackerel, tuna and especially enagi - eel. Next best has been a little restaurant in the port of Half Moon Bay, south of san Fran...a close second!
Well I had better go and feed the car so that's ready for its little outing , 80 miles or so round trip. Have a good one, all.
Question Author
Sounds amazing, DT. We've booked to go to a Pan Asian restaurant in Poole when we're down there - it's got great reviews on TA. The sushi looks incredible so we're really looking forward to it. I guess nothing compares to the stuff you get in the homeland though. I just can't see myself ever going to Japan - it just does not appeal to me as a destination.

Anyhoo, have a great day! x
Good morning all, OH is 82 today so we’ll be having a day poolside then 8 of us going out for that ‘special’ meal, I’m fist up as I love this time to myself, patio doors are hooked back, sun is already hot and high in a deep blue sky , we will be having a light brunch about half 11ish, saving ourselves for the Birthday boys meal in a tiny restaurant which only holds about 30/35 people, Domingo is a diamond and comes to the table explaining every detail of his menu, his wife and son do the cooking, all in all you can be there up to 3.5 hours, such is the intimacy of Las Maretas , hope everyone enjoys their day
Have a great time, Bobbie! Hope the meal’s worth the Plymouth experience, DT.
Morning Zac , thank you
Good morning. Already rather hot and very sunny here.

Sounds as though everyone is going to be busy today even if it's just doing nothing special.

Good morning, Bobbi, Zac and Lady-J. Sounds like a lovely day is planned, Bobbi. Many happy returns to Mr Sox!

How are you tolerating the heat, Lady-J?
All best birthday wishes to Mr Bobbi. Sounds as though he will have a very special day.

Not coping very well at the moment I'm sorry to say. Would love to enjoy it but sorry to say I find it completely enervating. Not to get too upset though as it'll not last forever.
Question Author
Sorry to hear that, Lady-J. I'm struggling in the very early hours when I wake up and I just can't cool down. OH will have to go up in the attic tonight and fetch the large fan down. I couldn't cope with another night like last night :-(
