I have just written a birthday card for our Grandson's first Birthday.On the front of the card is a badge held on by a plastic clip which says 1 today.However,on the back of the card it says,May contain small parts /and or sharp points.Not suitable for children under 3 years due to small parts.

One-year-olds tend to ignore warning stickers anyway, just give him a beer and party on.

Unfortunately it is nothing to do with H&S more to do with litigation.

The point I was trying to make is that why put a badge on a card for a 1 year old when you're concerned about what might happen,surely better to leave it off the cards for under 3's.
why buy a birthday card for someone who can't read?
The only thing that's gone mad is people sending cards to one-year olds.
He can look at the picture!
The badge is there so a non-verbalising infant can reply to the question 'How old are you young man', allowing him to work the room without awkward pauses.

twas meant as a joke grumpy . . .
I expect that his parents will have the wherewithal to take off the badge and put it somewhere safe, away from his mouth.
They could wait until he is four and perhaps stick it on the card then?
A late first birthday present ?
Or get two and keep them until he's eleven.

Maybe ael but it didn't read like it.When your only grandchild lives in the U.S.(Son went to further career) and given the travel restrictions in place, any tangible contact however tenuous is to be cherished.
It must be difficult having your family so far away. Do you facetime with them?

Being stabbed with a badge pin by your grandmother is just part of growing up.
