When was the last time you saw a real life police officer on a street near you?
Or even the person who was not a real police officer but had a police type uniform?
What are they called?
Have you ever tried reporting a
theft to the police and been met by a shoulder shrug and complete indifference?
No details logged?
No crime number given?
A force for what?
Not for the protection of the public

I can only speak for myself, I am a positive person who both gives and gets respect. I have no idea where or how you live but it does not sound pleasant, good luck.

Just wonder if my Avatar might give you a clue Daisy?
Baldric lives Herne Bay,
I live in Essex and see quite a few, where are you Daisy?
1 Nearly every day.
I frequently see police officers in the street. Reported a burglary some years ago now. Had a visit from the fingerprint boys and a crime number. Reported car keys dropped in the street and got them back. Have always found them helpful when needing directions. Had an interesting talk at my group by a crime prevention officer about ways to keep safe.
My only problem is they look so young!! But that's my age.
I think they do their best, with the restraints that are put on them.

Well said Margaret, the voice of reason, at last.
Police officer on foot.........years ago. Special constable? Not had to report a crime for over 10 years Daisy .
I don't get out and about much, so can't comment on how many are about, though they are here pretty sharpish when the locals are restless.

Like most people have had mixed experiences with them over the years - more good than bad.

Wouldn't have their job for a gold clock.

not very commonly spotted round my area, daisy.
We’ve actually had the police ring us back a couple of times for further info on reported crimes!
On a street near me.....not for at least a few years nor a PCSO if you mean actually patrolling.
I rarely see a police officer, but then I live in the middle of nowhere so I wouldnt expect to. Although I understand that they responded v quickly to a report of hare coursing the other night.
