I am sat in a hospital side ward
My son has just had an op and is feeling really sick
At two of the other beds two women are waiting chatting away
I would tell them to go out but my son does not want me to

I'd quietly ask them to take their chatter elsewhere.

Hope son recovers quickly xxx
that is so insensitive of them

all the very best for a quick recovery for your son
Waiting and chatting? Not patients or visitors?
You would think they would realise he needs peace and quiet. I wish him well for a speedy recovery.
Perhaps they do not realise that your son is feeling as bad as he is or that you are as worried about him as you are.
They have their own concerns.

You could ask the charge nurse if he could be moved to a side room on his own.

They are waiting for their relatives to come back from theatre
Sorry, meant to say, hope he recovers very soon.
Having spent a fair bit of time in hospitals, people wearing noisy heels really got me angry, especially when it was staff that worked there.I developed an unhealthy hatred for an office worker that came to my ward a billion times a day.

Think I am over that now, just keep me away from people with heels on ;-)

Hope your son recovers fast

By the time their relative comes back from theatre, your son will be much brighter and they will want peace and quiet for their relative. Go and tell them now and nip it in the bud, so to speak.
feel sorry for you, been in that situation, not just ill but having to listen to endless chatter from other peoples relatives, late into the night, mobile phones ringing endlessly, all the while nurses ignoring one's basic needs.
just out of interest, where would you like them to go to wait? Would it be better for them to be sitting in silence?
if they are not patients, tell them to bog off and why. if they don't complain to the charge nurse. i hope your son feels better soon, poor thing x
sorry if that sounded harsh, but it's not like it's the middle of the night, and if their relatives were there, they'd still be chatting i guess
also, i presume you are also chatting to your son?
People just don't think about the noise they're making...loud relatives, heavy shoes, strong perfumes...all annoying to a sick patient. Have a polite word with them...I hope your son recovers well and quickly.
You have my sympathy....why do they have to wait at ALL.can't they return at visiting time?

Visiting hours should be 1 hour only in the evening and no more than 2 to a bed.

Bloody visitors........it's a hospital for God's sake.
When waiting for Mr Alba to come out of surgery, I was asked to sit in the waiting room, not in the ward or anywhere near the patients.
visitors are welcome, its just some overstay, one person i was sharing a ward with had friends, family coming right through the day and night, chucking out time got to be as late as 10pm
Shouldn't they be in the Waiting Room and not the ward.
That's going to happen if people have large families.
