We were discussing this round the dinner table last night so let's extend it a wee bit. What's been good or bad, wonderful or sad in 2012, i'll kick it off :

Son finally got a Radiography job 18months after graduating, dughter got a job as well. I finally got back to the Falklands after a 20 year gap, it was wonderful and I'm off again in 6 weeks time.

We haven't had too bad a year, the economy bit hard, my wife's wee business suffered a bit but is rebounding now, 2012 wasn't a bad year for us.

Over to the Abers, Happy New Year everybody!

Nan died of cancer. Car written off. Fiancé couldn't keep it in his pants.

Now relieved to be back at work after having 3 months off tormenting myself.
Had first grandchild born, though far too early for my age!!
Hubby has still failed to see his daughter : (

Have made some new ,lifelong friends via AB : )
i got brillo pads half price in sainsburies

i murdered a mouse in a brutal fashion
I bet you tied it in a little velvet bag and drowned it in a bucket, didn't you?
The man moved in officially, we booked the wedding and I retired from work at 55 next year will have a manic start with hopefully a quieter finish.
It has been a bit of a crap year-with money worries, job insecurity, and the feral neighbours from hell.
But-some things have been sorted,so I'm hoping for a less stressful and more positive new year.
Broke ankle in Feb, had surgery, not been able to work since.
Sold business to allow Mum to retire in April
Fab holiday in Jamaica on crutches in April
Nonna in and out of hospital April and May
Gorgeous niece born in July
Granny in Southampton admitted to hospital in October and is still there.
Nonna broke her shoulder beginning of December.
Met some lovely Ab'ers in Birmingham...ummmm, ginge, NoMercy, Rowan, Redman, sunny-dave and fluff
My lovely Nonna passed away on the 23rd of December
On Christmas Day, my Granny in Southampton was told she would have 4-6 weeks to live.

It's been a very mixed year. 2013 isn't starting off well with Nonna's funeral on the 7th of Jan but I am hoping after that it will get better.

I hope you all have a great night tonight and I hope 2013 is a happy and healthy one for everyone xx
I joined the Answer Bank but I have decided to spend less time on here next year, as it has become addictive and taken over my leisure time.
I need to get out more!
Two sad events. The anniversary of one is tomorrow :-(

My Gramps died (peacefully) in October.

Had a few ups and downs with my youngest son but that seems to have settled now. Teenage angst!

The rest of the year has been happy. Enjoyed meeting up with my Birmingham buddies and hope we can all do it again :-) x
Forgot to add a good thing! I had a gastric sleeve in September and I have lost over 4 stone since which I am delighted with!
I'll be thinking of you tomorrow ummmm xx
Thanks xx
well you look absolutely lovely voddie... but I suspect you did before you lost weight anyway...
started the New Year 2012 with a new granddaughter Anya and then found out in May she was having a sister (due tomorrow!), moved house end of March when OH moved in, apart from the constant hunting shooting and fishing and the 54 hour weeks he works it's going well lol! Daughter eventually found a decent bloke (early days, only 5 months so far) and she went back to college to re-sit her GCSE maths and english which she's caned and will now go on to do more.
More ups than downs and that's the first year I can say that since 1998!
I have had no deaths, births or marriages in my life this year. Finances stable and managing to save a little. Asthmatic kittie has had no major attacks - his sister was diagnosed by the vet as being 'a couple of sandwiches short of a picnic'.

Saw my brother, SIL and the three little ones when they came north to visit the area. The little ones are brilliant and I love them nearly as much as I love my cats.

Alas ongoing mental health problems have managed to blow small problems out of all proportion. Got a lump removed from my arm which was just a fatty lump but hurt like h811.

Does anyone know where I can swap my bipolar brain for one that works properly?
It started out ok then went sour in the middle and then ended a bit sad.

I lost over a stone and was able to fit into a couple of my old size 10s :o)

I was being shoved from pillar to post at work and generally treated badly by senior management. An online survey was conducted which resulted in a vote of no confidence amongst senior management across the board so it wasn't just me that was affected. One good thing is that I don't have to manage any staff anymore as I'm working on a project to improve customer services.

Tigger was put to sleep on 10 Dec, after a year of diabetes and then a malignant tumor on her pancreas.

I've put on the stone that I lost earlier in the year. I started putting on the weight due to work related stress. My mission now is to lose it by April.
We found a supply of live crabs for free, straight from the water and with nice big nippers full of lovely white meat.
Lost one of my dearest and oldest friends in January, a very sad time.

Our beautiful second daughter was born in April.

Parted company with my brother and his partner the same day...

But have been very happy ever since. Mr P continues to have a very nice bottom, we're still financially secure (thanks to my tightness over the years), we have our health and nothing significant to complain about.

I wish everyone the very best for 2013. xx
I'll start with the worst..... Cancer took my Uncle away from us earlier in the year, my brother's business is going down the pan and my mum's aches and pains are getting worse.

On the upside, I got an amazing job that I love, got a brand spanking new car, saw the Foo Fighters and met my farmer boy :D

It has been a pretty spectacular year actually... I have a feeling that 2013 is going to be an even better one for me.. Fingers crossed! XD
I will remember 2012 for the wonderful Jubilee celebrations, a fantastic day out at the Olympics and more gold post boxes than we could have wished for.
