Transfer of info from old phone to iphone

I had a Samsung D500 but have now got an iphone (bit of a cosmic leap I know!!) What I need to know is whether it is possible to transfer photos and texts from the old phone to the new one? Thanks.

I've just picked up a free ipod shuffle from a mate - it still has his songs on it and I want to transfer them over to my PC just to see what he has got etc but it would let me transfer it back...

I have decided to replace my old ipod with a new one. I have 500 songs on the old one, some from cd's, some from itunes. Can I transfer them to the new one? Cheers.

Syncing iphone to computer NOT vice versa . . .

I am trying to sync my iphone to my laptop (ie transfer info from the phone into itunes on the laptop) however it seems to want to sync the info from the laptop to the phone instead of the other way...

I've just purchased a song from lastfm and its in wma format. How can I convert this to mp3? I thought I could just add it to my itunes and convert it form there, but it won't add it. Thanks
