Indecipherable wording.

After going to Downloads & clicking on File, then choosing a listed entrant and then transferring it to Documents and then opening it, I'm then requested to choose which file I'd like to open it...

Scanner Prob

I tried to scan a letter from my printer to my PC but nothing is happening. I can print FROM my PC & I can print from my printer. It used to be so easy - what's happened?
