Buying a MacBook in the US and bringing it back to the UK?

my boyfriends going to the US for a few months and he's planning to buy a MacBook out there, will it work when he brings it back to the UK? Also, will he have to pay duty on it?

my laptop screen has turned upside down!

was playing away and then the thing goes green and i cant see the game no more, out i come form the game and bang - it looks like its in safe mode (which has been fixed) and the screen is now upside...

Finding the serial number/PPID number of DVD drive on a laptop.

I'm getting my DVD drive on my Dell Inspiron 6400 laptop replaced and I need to find the serial number/PPID number which is 20 digits long - do I need to take the drive apart for this?
