Surely when reading/watching fiction/drama one suspends belief for a while- if it were all mundane it would be extremely boring.

I'm totally hooked on this and although I can agree that it seems unlikely a Dr would confide in a patient and then bribe her, I think a desperate woman is capable of many things and Suranne Jones' portrayal of a desperate woman was/is magnificent.
