I've more or less given up posting or joining in on AB; I'm finding it almost impossible to postbANYTHING without the keyboard (iPad) jumping up and down on the screen so that I'm always hitting a flip pin' advert and it goes off the page. I've just posted in Law, and I ended up hitting submit by accident. I just want my old AB back:-(

posting *it* again!
I do wonder why you keep posting it when it is obviously not sitting within what the Editorial Team approves of, as a Moderator I thought you may be more attuned to things like that.
Wha? Gromit's a Mod?
It's gone.
Yes Baths - not a secret.

@methyl.....why? Horseshoes has had a healthy number of responses to her question.
Being a moderator has never put me off posting what I think.

And I think all the gruff that is hidden within theanswerbank.co.uk stinks.

It is fair enough that AB uses adverts to make money from the site. But the sheer volume spyware/ad tracking that is bolted on to this site makes me think the owners of this site have little or no respect for us people who use it, and whose eyeballs make them the money.
That's a fair reply, have you tried to approach the Ed directly for a more detailed response?

I have read ABs Site Rules, and my post which keeps getting deleted, does not break any Site Rules. It is 100% factual, and the only reason it keeps getting censorred is because the people who run the site are embarrassed by it, and they do not want it to be common knowledge.
I would suggest that the majority of programmes are funded through adverts, but is there really a need to have repeat after repeat. I can't, and never have really see what purpose most of them serve when they are simply advertising products or services which you already know about or are simply not interested in. The AB is not on its own.
Davemano,
I have no objection to adverts. I have run websites myself in the past which were financed through advertising. AB is a site I like, and has to make money to make it worthwhile for the owners to devote time and effort to maintain it.
But the Spyware/ad tracking stuff takes place behind the scenes and users of this site are not aware of it. My list that keeps getting censorred includes more than 70 pieces of code that monitors YOU. It crosses a line of what I think is acceptable.
Gromit Your comment is way beyond what I am aware of. I joined AB purely for the crosswords and puzzles and didn't really know what else there was about it. We have to accept that however annoying the adverts are, they are a vital part of the site, and just like commercial TV we learn to live with it.
