I'm starting to get more than one tiny cucumber sprouting from the main stem at the base of the leaves. Should I leave them all on, or should I nip off all the small ones leaving only one strong one on each branch ?.

Don't nip anything off ... after each flower you may get a cucumber. Then no more will sprout from where you have taken a developed fruit. As the plant grows more will appear.
Don't wait until they get the size you buy them in the supermarket.
They taste a lot nicer half that size (around 5-6").
Mine are spouting daily and I have a fruit that is ready to eat within a week
At this point I am giving at least one a day away .. the neighbours love them .. so do I, but I cant eat them all !

I always seem to get an answer from you and this learner gardener is always grateful. Thanks alavahalf.
If you have an abundance, you could always turn your surplus into pickling some or making relish, that way you could enjoy them year-round.
Nothing like a nice crisp gherkin!
Never made relish, must have a look at some recipes ... but everything is in place for a massive batch of beetroot chutney tomorrow morning.
