Way back in the late 70s/80s there was an information film shown in schools in norfolk,i remember it being very disturbing at the time,it focused on a group of kids messing about on a farm and one by one they had an accident and died, one drowned in some gunk on the farm,it was a safety type film, did anyone else see it????

I remember it vaguely. Someone got mangled by a tractor too if memory serves.

Man, i was just thinking about that yesterday - god knows why! I think i saw it mid 80's. Someone was killed death by combine harvester - another was drowned in some sheep dip - i think another drank something poisonous. That's all i remember. It was strangely very good and has always stuck in my mind.

Anyone know where to download it?

it might be on here....

Yes, I remember it, particularly as I lived on a farm ( though it was a pig farm, so we didn't have a Combine Harvester ).

There is two volumes of DVD of these Public Information Films ( under the title of "Charlie Says..." on the Network DVD label ), but I'm not sure if the farm one is on them.

I also remember one about parking cars on the pavement ( or rather, not parking on the pavement ), with all sorts of people ( including a woman and her push-chair ) trying to squeeze between the car and a brick wall.

I think you are thinking of "Apache" which was directed by John Mackenzie (director of the Long good friday). One of the scariest PIFs of all time. It followed a ten little indians theme. I remember the slurry drowning in particular.

Didn't one child get reversed over by a tractor, and another had a gate land on him or something? I vaguely remember being shown it in Primary School, along with another similar film about playing on building sites which I swear to God I remember a child losing their leg in - Was that one by the same director / company too?
These Public Information Films were commisioned by the COI ( Central Office of Information ), but the work was and is carried out by different production companies ( some companies specialise in animation, others in live-action etc ).
Apache was the one I saw in primary school. I would love to see it again.
