I Cannot Believe What I Am Reading

A mother chooses to HAVE to keep her daughters locked up at night so that her paedophile husband can live with her. He is considered a danger to children and the police are monitoring the situation. Why would anyone choose to live like that? I only there is never a fire while those girls are locked in their bedrooms.

We had a discussion in the ladies toilets one night. Half the girls there had been abused or inappropriately touched at some point pre puberty. It's more rife than people think.

I can't say I've ever experienced it, nor has anyone I know -- or at least, if so, they are keeping quiet about it. Which, perhaps, explains my post earlier. Easier to be passive about it if you've never been affected. I hope it stays that way. I feel saddened that so many people here have had to endure such abuse.

Jim.....people don't talk about it. Especially because it's usually someone you know. A really good friend of the family....a child should never have the burden of ruined families.

Jim.....I would think more people keep silent about it than talk about it. I said nothing for many years til I needed to explain why I didn't love my mother.

For people like me and Ummmm and Daffy there is no finding the good in a paedophile....they don't deserve a life let alone a normal one....x

My abuser dragged me into bushes and parks on the way to and from school more than once. You don't even need to be alone indoors with someone who is determined.

Wished I could say more than I'm going to say, but...
Some one very close to me was abused by her Uncle and she kept it secret for years and years and almost drove her to suicide.
Well, the story came out and it has split the family up no end and she often wished she had kept the secret to herself knowing that families have all fallen apart! Tragic. Good to get that off my chest.

And thats why children keep quiet. They know the consequences, even from a very young age.

Thats true ummmm.
She kept the secret from a 12 yr old till she was married with 2 children.
She didnt want to upset the close relationship with both families! (It did)
And the pain still lingers.

She suffered many nightmares of the trouble she had caused by getting her secret out in the open.
