Since I'm bedridden with a bad back at the moment I can get some weird ideas and am wondering if any ABers have one of these or are thinking of getting one, and if so what prompted you to buy one?

Sorry to hear that, xs. The £299 Sports Watch is tempting but if you need the iPhone to operate the watch, why have both?! I suppose on some occasions it might be better to look at the wrist for messages, rather than dive into your pocket/bag but time will tell!
I am an Apple fan but as I hate wearing a watch and have only worn one on two occasions since I retired 7 years ago, Its not for me.
Sounds like a fiddly expensive gimmick to me. Screen too small to be of any real value / use.

Each one of you has mentioned something I have also thought....a tod expensive for a toy, but I love my iPad. It's been keeping me company all day.
I don't think the watch works with the iPad.
Awww xstitcher, sorry to hear you're in bed with a bad back. Hope it eases and you're on your feet again soon. Had I have known, I'd have sent over a lovely salad for lunch! Take care .... and no i don't have an apple watch. I am joined at the hip to my ipad but I wouldn't be able to see anything much smaler!

That would have been nice with your salad Mayup. The food I'm eating at the moment isn't the best but then I'm eating very little, seem to have lost my appetite..that's nice. I'm also having strange symptons, like loosing the strength in my arms, legs and hands. Can't walk more than 5 steps or stand for more than a minute. The doctor thinks it could be the statins in my cholesterol meds so have taken me off them 2 days ago..so far no change at all. To be honest it's a bit scary. I don't like talking about bad health and look at me now....end of moan!!
I cannot see the remotest point in these things. As has been said, it only works if you have one of the latest iphones as well. If you already have an iphone, why would you need a special kind of watch as well ?
It's for the yoof, mikey! It'll be the No 1 fashion item this summer!
Mine is UPro copy for those sharpies in car parks that ask me the time. If I showed my iphone am sure it would be snatched & in Albania before I got home ;)
Don't worry about moaning, you're hardly making a habit of it! If you don't feel like eating do keep hydrated. Is the doctor coming back tomorrow?

I don't have an iPhone just an ordinary Nokia. I didn't know you have to have an iPhone to make the watch work. I don't know about them being the lastest fashion Jomlett...they aren't very smart looking, but they could be the must have gimmik....yuk!
