I know that I am O and had a blue blood donor card to prove it, my father too. My mother was given two different cards by her GP many years ago whatever she had been told before she was then given a yellow card, what blood group would that be? Been looking on the internet but cannot find anything to assist me. Thanks.

I'm blood group B and my blood donor card is blue.
Historically group A had yellow labels on the bags.
In the days when blood donors all had a booklet into which stamps were placed to record donations all the cards were blue irrespective of blood group. On reaching 50 donations along with the Gold award badge you were given a gold booklet so everybody could see at a glance that you'd made a minimum of 50 donations.
I cannot find anything on the internet that specifies what the old labelling of blood bags was.

All I can recollect is that white letters outlined in colour meant Rh negative

nowadays they are all black and white and you have to er read them
On the bags, O were blue, A were yellow, B were pink, AB were black and white. As has been stated the donor books were all blue with a 'page' stuck in for every donation.
thanks Jake P

we were ordered to forget - and by golly I did !
