How can I increase my phone's memory? I've been trying to install one app, and update an existing one, but keep getting "not enough memory". I haven't got much on there, having transferred all photos and music onto my pc for now. and have only got one app running at present. I've googled the problem, but there are so many different ways of doing this that I got quite muddled. I've been into settings on the phone, but everything I hoped that I could change to the SD card has that option greyed out. Any helpful ideas would be much appreciated.

I'm sorry that I can't help directly but I do know that Samsung has a good reputation for the quality of the telephone support they offer. Perhaps a call to 0330 726 7864 (Mon-Sat, 0900-1800) might be worth a try? (NB: I suggest calling from a different phone, so that you can follow any instructions that the Samsung staff might give to you during the call).

That's a good idea, I'll try that tomorrow - thanks Buenchico.
I don't think you can really. You can add an SD card to mine, I assume it may be the same for yours, but unless you root the handset the operating system (android) won't allow you to use your own memory card as you wish. I was told in the shop when I complained that it's fixed so you can only store things like photos and video on it. Blooming con job if you ask me. All you can do is delete4 unused aps to make room for more. (Assuming you have genuinely used up all the handset memory rather than have a fault.)
If the option of using SD card is greyed out have you got one installed as they don't all come with one as standard. If one is fitted change settings to save to card and not phone.
This is a rather inexpensive phone with very little memory.

Have you put an SD card in there, I think it can take one (up to 32Gb).

But you may wish to consider upgrading the phone. Try to get one with at least 8Gb of memory, more if possible.

You will be able to get a sim free phone from Argos etc
