I cooked this over the weekend, absolutely brilliant, no peeling, no chopping, no boiling, no mashing. Never do it the old way again.

Yes, simples!
Gosh I never knew about this - would save all the difficult chopping up, the skin is always so tough. Will definitely try it, thanks for the idea Caran x
I'm glad I've been told it's just an ordinary swede as i was all prepared to go into Tesco to ask where the singing swedes are.Yes I'm that daft.
I tried this method on Christmas day as a result of the thread on this subject just prior to Christmas. I found it to be quite a hassle and required to much checking and fussing about. What with all the other veg and Turkey that required continuous attention I would sooner enjoyed prepping it with all the sprouts, carrots, roasties, parsnips on Christmas eve which has been our family tradition for years. All sitting round the table with peeling knives, well charged glasses and Christmas Carols in the background having a good laugh. Only advantage I found was it freed up a hob ring. My neaps were done yesterday the traditional way.
What are neaps?
Oh I wish we hadn't told Barsel....would have loved the tale she'd told when she came back from Tesco!

Ann....do try....it's a doddle ...pop in the microwav...turn once....and much better swede at the end.....x
neep
Swede.
Hi gness, I have visions of asking a young boy and he would be looking all over the fresh produce, then he would ask someone else who would then ask customer services. Then they would be looking for the hidden camera then finally they would send for the men in white coats and I would be carted away. :-) xx
Then every time you visited, Barsel....they would point and whisper...There's that daft lady.....hide!
They do that already. xx
I did this for the first time on Sunday and I was surprised. It actually worked. I'm always a bit sceptical about these "hints" but it was great. I recommend the idea to the house!
Barsel
I meant to type neep as different from Neap which is the smallest range of tides as opposed to Spring tides. A typo.
