I have finally got used to not working and have found some simple pleasures related to not having to go to work.
a) I can keep on top of the daily chores and they get done. My house is clean and tidy
b) I don't have to worry about what the weather will be like for my journey to and from work
c) I don't have to fill in my day to day diary with jobs I have to do tomorrow.
d) I can spend my evenings on Answerbank and it doesn't matter.
Before I retired I got most of my jobs done before going work . It's been a few years now and I still get all my jobs done early . Just can't get out of the habit .I forget I have all day but I must get them done early .
You can take an afternoon nap if you like - work assumes you keep going all day.
You can take a lunch break when you feel like it.
You can wear what you like.
For men no need to shave if you don't want to.
Trish and I have never seen as much of the country. We've the car,the bus pass and senior railcards depending on how we feel and the really nice thing is we don't have to rush home now so if we find a place we like we can always stop over for a couple of days.
Mind you, I've only been retired 2½yrs and it's surprising how old habits try to reassert their-selves.
Was watching a late night film when I almost decided to record and finish it the next day, because it was 1.30am. But, I resisted temptation and finished it and went to bed about 2.30am. Old habit (no.2) kicked in at 7.30am and made me wake up!!!
Old habit (No.1) shaving, was dispensed with early on ☺☺☺
