Does anyone know if there is something you can take to stop your period (without being on the pill).

I am going on holiday shortly and will be on my period and I am not on the pill

Not sure, but if you are desperate then if you have a diaphragm fitted then that will 'keep things at bay' for any special occasion !
yes, but you have to get a prescription for it. go to your doctor and ask for Utovlan because you're going on holiday. you wont have to have an examination and no awkward questions will be asked. if you're luck enough to have a doctor like mine you should be able to just phone the practice and ask for the prescription.

taking a whole packet of pills without the usual break would prevent your period but you probably dont have enough time. at least 5/6 weeks would be needed.

Anything that stops period normaly should be started on a first day of a period, so am afraid you left it a bit late. Next time ask your nurse about a depo.

justsia, you're wrong. the tablets i suggested are meant to be taken 3 days before you're period starts. this quote is taken from this website http://emc.medicines.org.uk/emc/assets/c/html/ DisplayDoc.asp?DocumentID=4179

Taking Utovlan to delay your periods - You will usually take 1 tablet 3 times a day. You need to start taking the tablets 3 days before your period is due to start. Your period will usually start within 3 days of finishing the tablets.

I have had these tablets prescribed on many occasion.
