hi, i am of normal weight now, but used to suffer an Eating disorder where although i didnt get seriosuly underweight, i lost enough for my periods to stop. i got up to a normal weight and they stil didnt start. i went on the pill (and still am) and my periods have come back. however if i stopped the pill, i think they would still not come 'naturally'.

my question is, is my fertility less likely to be effected if i continue on the pill, rather than if i just had no period at all? am i still doing the same amount of damage or is it better to have a period on the pill than no period at all? what is best? i cant gain any more weight but i probably only say 1 or 2 pounds underweight.

i would so greatly appreciate ANY answers, as im really stuck and cant ask my GP or they will find out i had an eating disorder

There's a question about obese people, which I accept is not your problem, but in that thread I have left info. about working out your Body Mass Index (BMI), which may be useful to you in the future.
The pill does not usually damage fertility long term. It can cause temporary infertility until your body gets back to normal. It does affect the periods when you stop and start it.
