Oh Joys of Joys ! I have been an atheist all my adult life but on occasions like this I do begin to wonder if there is a God after all.

So Max Clifford, as well Rolf Harris, safely behind bars, for a while at least.

I guess it is routine for anyone with the money to appeal a sentence - on a 'nothing to lose' basis.

Fortunately, on this occasion, the law has seen sense and Clifford remains where he belongs.
His hubris continues though and he's never at any time shown any remorse, just like Rolf.
He's where he belongs.

I am still somewhat surprised about Rolf, as like, most people he was part of my childhood, but I am not arguing about the sentence at all.

However Clifford is a different matter altogether. He turned up for Court everyday and the smirk on his face was a mile wide. For most men in prison its bad enough but for someone like Clifford, it must be hell, even in an open prison. I make no apology for hoping that he is suffering badly.
I think most people were shocked by Rolf. We all knew him(or thought we did) as we grew up. He was a VERY popular entertainer. Wow, how the mighty fall.

I'd be willing to bet that both will all of a sudden develop "illnesses" and be released early on compassionate grounds due to their age etc etc....

Remember Ernest Saunders(guinness scandal) and his "Altzheimers" got a few years in chokey and was let out after some months then made an amazing recovery and went on to run a successful antique business !...
Not a dry eye in the house!
Snigger. What an odeous man.
Good !

I too couldn't believe it about Rolf Harris when it first came out, but I now hope he dies behind bars !
// Remember Ernest Saunders(guinness scandal) and his "Alzheimers" got a few years in chokey//

yes indeed - Saunders got depressed in prison and this was indistinguishable from dementia ( = pseudo dementia )

this mistake / misdiagnosis caused problem for the forensic psychiatrists for a few years

sort of as in:
'expert' psych - for it is he - " Yes judge - mad, quite mad ...."
judge in red robe, wiggy etc " ah p++s off ! "
expert: ' yes my lord I will do that immediately" and leaves court ........
