I have been told that combining milk and sugar, i.e. in tea or coffee, is poisonous. Now i think this is a little extreme but is there any truth in it?

No!!!!!!
No. Think of all the food with milk and suagr in! Chocolate for one!

Load of whoosh. The only relevance is for diabetics who must monitor fat and sugar in foodstuffs.

Lactose intolerance which is quite common as well as some other inabilities to absorb sugars - fructose malabsorbtion (gut pain and upset stomach) is not unheard of - ie sugars from fruit - may also be mixed up in the query, but no relevance to creating toxins from coffee and sugars.

There are tons of papers available about the effect of toxins in the food chain - acylamide in fried foods is a good example. If you have no life and want to bone up on it - see: http://www.ipfsaph.org/En/default.jsp which will direct you to the topic you want - pesticide safety, food handling, hygiene, animal feeds - all the stuff you really do not ever want to know about before eating...

Also see the site http://www.internethealthlibrary.com/DietandLifestyle/Food_combining.htm about food combinig which makes suggestions as to healthy options and ways to get the best from eating types of food

Absolutely YES!!!! No British product contains both these ingredients!! Also, don't step on cracks on the walkway or you will die immediately!!
Suggest this should be in History and Myths now that I think about it, not Food.....
