Anyone got any natural remedies for lowering cholesterol. Trying oats and celery and of course my five fruits and veg a day

Hi ember, Try to eat anything thats low calorie. Dont eat too many crisps,biccies that kind of thing. Dont drink full cream milk,try skimmed or soya and leave all skins on your veggie's. I have one a day pro active drink or yogurt. Benecol or Flora and I also use the margarine. How high is your cholestral? Mine was 6mm:-))
Mine was 7.7 so a bit of a shock as I'm not very big. I stopped ice cream, chocolate, cheese, crisps, chips, fried food, sugar, salt, didn't eat butter anyway (like FINA I use pro active and soya stuff) but any Hard Fats are bad. Drink plenty of water. There are good fats and bad fats - if you google Cholesterol there will be loads of site to help you, its just common sense. Anyway in three months mine went down to 6.7 and is now 6.5 but I don't exercise which is Very Important, even lots of walking. Get the heart pumping. Good luck :)
Judiewudie, High chol is nothing to do with a persons weight,yeh I was suprised when my gp told me! I was already on the Slimming World Plan and losing weight when I found out about my chol levels. My neighbour is 10 years younger than me (Im 57) she's not overweight yet her chol level was 8mm last year. Her brother who is very overweight has normal chol levels,weird or what?:-)) I just ate a bar of choc:-(
