My Daughter bought a plant at a sale in the spring and lost the label on the way home, it now has several large round fruits on it, they are pale green as big as large tomatoes and with purple streaks going down the sides, what is it please?

A variety of heritage tomato?
Did it have flowers, what size and type - bush, climber? passion fruit?
Aubergine (egg plant) or Chili type spring to mind.

Try google for some images and compare leaves etc.
Sounds like a pepino melon, I've got one. It does taste a bit like melon and makes good jam.
