It was 29 degrees here yesterday and its forecast to be 32 degrees here today and tomorrow. They have said we are officially hotter than Barbados., and have warned people to stay indoors between 10am and 3pm because of the heat and humidity. It was 18 degrees here overnight last night and very humid.
(south-east coast)

i'll be on holiday (wales then norfolk) the first two weeks in august

i hope the weather is like this, then
I'm in the West Midlands Zacs and it IS hot, not complaining but bit too hot for me!
love the sun cheers me up and hopefully it will stay hot as we want to go to cornwall at the end of the month .
I think 22 degrees is acceptable with the sun, but it was 29 degrees here yesterday plus humidity and will be 30+ today. I was as sick as a dog last night and nearly passed out. (:o(
A couple of neighbours are having swimming pools installed. The guys doing the installing are working(laying cement, blockwork etc.) at 32C in the shade.
I have found a great way of keeping cool. I have just had a shower and have put velcro rollers in my towel dried hair and am letting it dry naturally.

I might look like a chav but at least my wet hair is keeping me cool. I shall do it again. It's brilliant.
Tilly, who cares about vanity! Whatever works for you mon amie ;-)
It does work. You should try it, ag.

First floor wide open here back and front, so dogs can access garden, sorry should say it's first floor at front and ground floor at back as we're built into a steepish hillside, bit of a sea breeze but it's still 26° inside
(N/Kent coast)
Tilly, may be hard for me with my No1 blade hair :'(
ah, ag. :-( indeed.
Good tip though Tilly I will grant you that! Not wishing to sound gushing but I enjoy your posts (and Kval's)!
Thank you, ag. That's a nice thing to say.

My hair is now dry.
Ive just been laughing at your 'beggar' post! You make me smile, glad hair is dry! :-)
The storm's here so hopefully it will cool down!

The way folks hereabouts (SW France 40C in August)deal with the heat is to open the doors and windows when it is cooler outside than in and then close them when it is warmer outside. Having a warm breeze blowing through the house may initially feel cool but it just warms the interior of the house up and if the breeze stops then you broil.
