Last night's winners only got £300,000 + each. There were 8 winners . Imagine that. You try the lottery every draw and your one in 14 million chance up and wow, you're a big winner - NOT!! £300,000 wouldn't even buy much of a house these days. I'd expect that payout on 5 + the bonus ball. I'm so glad I no longer do the Lotto. I stopped when the price doubled. I've had...

Er, how can the National Lottery (which I assume that you're referring to) get better or worse? (Even if my luck definitely seems to get worse!).

Or are you referring to the TV programme that goes with it (if one still actually does, 'cos I certainly haven't watched it, or even been aware of it, for several years - I don't watch a lot of telly!). There are other channels, you know, Svejk, or even a little button marked 'Off' ;-)
PS:
I hope that you're under 20 and wearing your trousers at half mast, Svejk, otherwise you're not allowed to use 'innit', which is a word strictly reserved for 'yoof' culture ;-)

prizes. they doubled the price of the tickets and halved the prize money. do you honestly think I watch the 'lottery show', if indeed there's such a thing, which I seriously doubt.
Question Author
no, I'm in my 50s but I'm quite new to the internet, innit.
>>>they doubled the price of the tickets

Well that's true enough . . .

>>>and halved the prize money

. . . but that certainly isn't!

I spend my £4 every week (just 1 line, with the same numbers, on both Wednesday & Saturday). So far, since the price went up, I've had three £25 wins and one of £161. Given that I accept that the idea is that most people will lose money in the long run (otherwise there'd be nothing for good causes) that seems OK to me!
>>>I'm in my 50s

Bloody youngsters - they're getting everywhere these days!
;-)
Try playing Russian roulette lotto.

Choose six numbers.
Don't buy a ticket.
Check to see if you would have won.

Most weeks you feel very smug that you have effectively 'won' two pounds.

Good luck though to all still doing the lottery every week. If you win, I'll have a large vodka tonic thank you very much. xx
I spend the same but less lines since the price went up.
I no longer do the lotto. Over the years I have not had much luck on it and when the price increased I stopped. I do have a £2.00 bet on the televised horse racing on a Saturday instead and I usually get my money back.

I'm just testing something if this post shows up.
I save money now, don't do it since it went up. Frightened to check results though because I used same numbers every week...ie birthdays and anniversaries.
Done one-liners for eons. I did win a small prize in the early years but nowt since. I take comfort to it being my weekly charitable donation.
