I am appalled to see this kind of cruel suggestion. I only hope this is a joke. If it is its in the worse possible taste. I thought this site was monitored to prevent this kind of posting
I agree with hal, this is gratuitous and unecessary. Ldrothermere is a cad

This is immoral pseudoscience masquerading as a green and moral approach. This is precisely the approach currently being adopted by the far right in this county. It needs nipping in the bud now.
I still agree with you hal, but I'm a bit concerned about nipping things in the bud, it sounds a bit cruel. I think we need to be consistent in dealing with this sort of thing
Seriously now, make sure that your house is not an appealing place for them to live. Don't leave food sitting out, anywhere, even on the countertops. Try not to have fresh fruit sitting around your kitchen. Don't let any crumbs fall and remain on the floor. Move your refridgerator and oven and sweep underneath them. If the ants can no longer find food easily inside your home, they will willingly move back outside where food is now relatively easier to find.
KEJ is bang on - keep everything clean. However once upon a time I lived in, well, basically a shack, in Thialand - the floor was always full of exploring ants until the guy I was sharing with had an idea. We located where the ants where coming in and provided them with a new food source, to whit one bowl sugar and water. After that, all ants were v busy going backward and forward from this food source and no more ants in the house as all their food needs were being met. They even protected it (and us) from other ants. The problem I can see with happy well-fed ants though is more ants colonnies springing up. We weren't around the next year to monitor results but it absolutely worked and no ants were harmed in the process.
Find where they are coming in, get a stick of chalk and run a line across at entry point , ants will not cross over (this was told to me by my grandmother and it works) try it out.
