presumably she was a totally incompetent editor who knew nothing about what her staff were up to.

PM spokesman says Cameron stands entirely by words in parliament promising to apologise if Coulson is found guilty.
Mikey's ignoring this, and concentrating on the fact that last week's yougov poll predicted they'd all be found guilty.
It's the shock, give him time:-)
credit to Cameron for hiring Coulson, then - an editor who did know what his staff were doing.
dont care what that jury thinks.....but not in a million years was she not involved with or had no knowledge of what was going on !

it is beyond the realms of belief that with the position she had in that newspaper and her relationship with Coulson she would have been unanware of the methods he and others used to get information..thats part of how she got where she was in the first place, using those same methods to get stories and info....it was and probably still is to a lesser degree for now, rife in that industry.

so Coulson is the fall guy
Yes, looks like it Baz. Not really a surprise though.
What, so her and Coulson never discussed these matters over 'pillow talk'?
Yeah right!
So what now for RB I wonder, a weekend at Dodgy Dave's gaff, riding the Met's ponies?
I have just come in a day out in Mid Wales, and yes, I am shocked.

What this verdict says is that Brooks must be the most inefficient, lazy and incompetent editor ever known in Fleet Street, as all those shenanigans were going on, right under her nose but she was somehow like the three monkeys, unaware of anything whatsoever about anything. It now gives carte blanche to every other gutter-press newspaper to do exactly what it likes, because no matter how vile they behave, all that will happen is that one fairly minor staff member will pay the penalty.

I know that our Editor is also surprised but considering that the CPS and Police thought that there was enough damning evidence to bring the charges against her in the first place, in this huge, lengthy and very costly trial, we can't be the only two who think so can we ?

We must respect the decision of the Jury but I now eagerly await Jimmy Savile being dug up, tried before a Jury and found to be entirely innocent of any offences whatsoever as well.

I shall donate that bottle of hair conditioner that I have been carefully keeping to one side, to one of the females in my family instead, so there a small silver lining after all !
Baz has it right...Coulson, the Fall Guy.
two threads and twice the fun

// presumably she was a totally incompetent editor who knew nothing about what her staff were up to. // That was basically her defence. It seems to have worked sadly.

seems to have worked WELL in my opinion

From the link:

“So happy for my friends Rebekah and Charlie, so sad for my friend Andy. A good man, who I will always support,” Morgan wrote via Twitter.

Morgan, the former editor of the Daily Mirror, was himself questioned by police over allegations of phone hacking in February this year. He was not charged with any offence and has always denied any involvement in the practice.

Facing a predictable backlash from his Twitter followers, he quickly responded with the following: “Amazing how many ‘saints’ on here would dump their friends the moment they faced their toughest times. Thank god you're not MY friends!”

Yeah, the sort of 'good man' who has been found guilty of hacking the voicemail inbox of a murdered schoolgirl for profit. Oily ***.
I think I would rather cut my testicles off with a rusty hacksaw, then be friended by Piers Morgan.....a complete oily t**t, as you said Chilli ! Frightful oik.
I cannot and will not ever forgive Morgan for his ill-judged headlines when he placed so many of HM Forces in danger over this:

Though Morgan himself still refused to apologise before being sacked. May he rot.
Strong sentiments Chilli but deserved in this case.
