Iv'e found that expensive chemicals that are suppose to "repel" cats and dogs from using my garden as a toilet don't work. So without going to the extra expense of buying an air gun does anyone have any other remedies. Thanks.

Our catflap was fitted fine, ladybirder, we just have huge strong cats..... Many a time they've broken off those tinsy red locks which are supposed to stop them being able to open the flap :-(
I do worry about the decreasing number of garden birds, however we surely need cats around because of the vast increase in rats.
Obviously we had different cat flaps boxy mine didn't have "tinsy red things" on. And though my female was a dainty little thing, my Dennis was a great big bruiser of a cat - in fact I bet My Cat was bigger than Your Cat LOL:-)
The foxes will take care of the rats - if we don't kill the foxes!
I'm pretty sure the food chain could do without cats and I doubt many of them would take on a rat. I would love to know how to keep them out of my garden but I've not found any repellant substances to work long term. There are far fewer visiting birds here now than there were 8 years ago when I moved here and at least 4 more cats, coincidence? Years ago I did have a cat and it was a house cat. I would no more let a cat whose welfare I'm supposed to be responsible for wander the streets, than I would a dog, rabbit or anything else.
My dog is a 'rescue' dog. He'd obviously been ill treated and he was skin and bone and frightened of his own shadow. He didn't know how to play either. I give him the best life I can and I love him with all my heart, but if I ever came across the morons who hurt him, I would probably get into big trouble !! He is the most loving, gentle boy you could hope to meet and that after he was abused by humans ! We do far worse things to them than they could ever do to us and according to RSPCA stats, it's getting worse.

The manager at the Kennels where we got ours, left the file on the desk when he went to get her from the pen. So we do know, and for once I'm shutting up!
Blimey Baldric, that's a dangerous bit of information to have on your plate - I don't know If I'd be able to sit on it. But good for you, they aren't worth even spitting on let alone a visit.

I couldn't possibly comment!

Thank you so much ummmm. Thanks for fighting in my corner while I was at work, and for telling a certain few where they went wrong. At least you and AB Editor can see there was no intent. (you are very funny DrFilth).
Someone around here has a 'no dogs pooing on the lawn' sort of sign in the front garden and it is the only garden I have seen with dog poo on it - tickles me for some reason.
