So I spent a lot of time feeling 95% it would be a Ford Focus TDCi. And it isn't. On Saturday I'll be collecting a delightful 2010 Honda CR-Z hybrid sports coupe in white. 17k on the clock, 65mpg, £20 road tax, and my word is it lovely to drive. Low insurance too, group 17 - I was staggered to discover the Focus is group 34!!! (in fairness, the quote I got was only about £30 higher than the CR-Z).
Love the dashboard too. All the display stuff is LED instead of needles - looks great. Push-button start, 6-speed box, normal/sport/eco driving modes.
I'm in love!

65mpg?

Let is know if you get anywhere near that then.
Question Author
Yeah, I know, I know. The actual claimed mpg (ex urban) is 64 and realistically I'll probably get 55-60, but that's still double what the old Mondeo gives me.
BTW when I read reviews of the Focus - also claimed to be about 65mpg - they all said it would be very difficult/near impossible to achieve.
Oh, and I wish you happy motoring.

I envy the £20 road tax, big time.

That's the one Baldric - a little darling, it is. Full electronic dash too, which looks amazing in the dark.
Interesting thing on the road tax. The one I've bought is 4 years old, £20. The newer one, which hardly looks any different, is free for year 1 then £110 after that. Odd!

Yeh, dash is in the second link, very impressive

That dashboard image confused me at first, but what they've done is just take the central dial and repeated it to show its different colours. The full dash is here (sorry about the ridiculous URL):

Only one thing lets it down - there's no USB port for me choons, just the small round aux input, but I can get a stick-type MP3 player and use its audio out for that. Nice thing is that the 13v socket is very nearby so I can run it on an adapter without trailing a long lead all over the place.
