Hi there,

My brother has just moved to Canada and I was looking to see what the best WebCams are at the moment. I remember that 4/5 years ago when I tried, they were very jerky, due to dial up, but not sure if things have improved. Your help would be very grateful.

Look at Logitech ones - some as cheap as 12 - 15 even with sound.

Check Novatech, Dabs, Aria and Savastore (or Amazon).

My advice is to buy the cheapest you can find initially. It will be a useful spare should you need it.

But you will see the quality and as time goes on you will be able to decide which extra features you need or can do without.

It's pointless paying for an all singing, all dancing webcam if it has expensive features you never use.
I have the Logitech Quickcam which came complete with earpiece from Argos 25 and use it most days to communicate to Australia. Never had any problems with it and easy to install and use.
...you will still get jerky video whatever you pay for the camera if you don't have fast broadband connections............commoner.
