Is there anywhere where I can find out which countries around the world have banned smoking and when it happened?

Italy (where I currently live) has banned smoking completely as of January 2006. there were already restrictions before though

Looking at corbyloo's list, it seems there is nowhere (not even Italy, thunderchild) that has completely banned smoking.

According to that list, Italy (amongst others) has banned smoking completely - in public places. I may be being a little presumptuous here, but y'know, I have a sneaking suspicion that's what becca meant in her question.

Hello, I live in British Columbia Canada.. and we have not been smoking in any public resturants,pubs,bars,malls for a long time.. we can smoke out side though.. but if someone is caught putting a cig butt on the ground they will be fined for it.. but I have never herd of that happening.
