Does anyone have a company or broker they can recommend to provide affordable comprehensive car insurance for my daughter.
We've tried the usual suspects with the cuddly fluffy toys in their ads and the one that seems to give away an endless red rope to run along beside your car.
Thanks.

The best we could find for my (then) 18 year old son a few years ago was with Aviva for about £600 per year.
This link tames time and patience to work through but a bit of effort might well save a lot of money:

It does depend what you mean by affordable - it's going to be a lot of money whichever way you look at it, for a new driver.
Try Rescuemycar.com

I got a bloody good deal with them

Thank you all for your replies. We'll investigate the possibilities after work. Cheers. :)
This was asked on here about a year ago and someone came up with an excellent site that dealt with young drivers. I'll see if I can dig it out.
Adding an older driver as an additional driver can bring down the premium significantly

Cheers Rocky, that's a lot cheaper than the quotes we've been getting. I've asked for quoteswith myself and she who must be obeyed on too Factor, still north of £1600.
The search will continue.
Thank you all again for taking the time to help. :)
You will be VERY lucky to get it under the £1600 you mention I was going to suggest it would be at least £2000. Is this as a provisional license holder? It will be a lot more when she passes her test as driving unaccompanied for the first time is when the real risk starts so insurance is more. You have to remember that 30% of newly qualified teenage drivers have a claim in the 1st year
this company get good press from friends in a similar situation to yours douglas, maybe worth a try?

my gt nephew pays an eye watering £4k.
PP I heard of an 18 year old with 1 accident the quote was £38,000 yes 38K
£38,000 is saying ...

You might have another accident. We need to charge enough money to cover the risk that you write off someone else's car, which could be an expensive car. Otherwise, we might make a loss on your policy.

The shareholders of insurance companies need them to make a profit.
