Onwards and Downwards Continues in January 2014

Happy New Year,

Welcome to this month's Onwards & Downwards. We welcome anyone serious about losing weight and we offer support and kind thoughts - not magic fixes, just sensible help.

I hope you all had the Christmas and New Year you wished for, don't know about you but I over-indulged (and it was yummy).

Let's get back to basics what are you favourite and most helpful diet tips? Things that have worked for you.

Don't forget your weekly weigh on Wednesday and remember we don't judge! Here is last months thread

Good Morning All, I almost forgot until I saw your posts in my in box. I have stayed the same so I shall have a talk with myself now and see what I can do to remedy that.
My hubby gave me an idea about carrots...him not liking them....when you grate them add a drop or so of sweetner to the lemon juice if you don't like them with just lemon.
If you are out and for some reason must eat dessert why not say to yourself....everybody will expect me to eat at least an ordinary portion because they can see I am overweight, but I'LL SHOW THEM and take, or ask for, a more is less size portion of cake or what ever it is.
Not a happy bunny. Had expected to be down on yesterday but the scales claim up again. Up 2⅛ lbs for the week allegedly.
Oh dear OG that is sad news.....off to the naughty step with you
Morning all - I weighed yesterday but I'm the same again this morning, so I'll join in on the correct day :-)
O_G - perhaps you should think about what we spoke about last week, keeping a log of everything you eat and drink, so you can identify the baddies. I was able to treat myself to half a lager last night!
I've lost two pounds this week and I'm not on a diet.
Yes boxtops this is what we have always stressed to write everything down and plan meals in advance. It helps to see where we have gone wrong . OG off to the naughty step with you .I just scraped by to keep you company. Better luck for next week. Welcome Tilly 2 do you have weight to lose .
Morning wendi. I do have a bit of weight to lose but I am able to get rid of mine by upping the amount of exercise I do. It does come off quite quickly when I make the effort.
Hi Tilly it is half the battle when you know how to lose it .
Well, I have lost 3 pounds here.
I am managing to eat before 10am now (still not enjoying it though).
I have changed my spread from butter to Dairy Free Pure, and trying not to eat anything after 7pm.
We'll done ferlew. It must be very hard eating breakfast but I'm sure you will soon find it quite a natural thing to do. Keep up the good work!
Well done Ferlew breakfast is the most important meal of the day . Keep up the good work.
Good for you Tilly with the exercising. It and healthy eating are the fastest and best way to loose weight.
Mmmm but what would I do with the log of everything I eat from the last couple of decades ?

Had my arm twisted to go out with the work crowd for a meal this evening. I expect the pub we meet at will have low calorie ale. as well.

I don't think there were any baddies over the last 24 hours which is why I was less than amused. Yes there are a few over the whole week, but I'm sure they'll be finished gradually over the next week.
